Dean and Naomi Byers established Byers Butterflake Bakery in 1968 after Dean was in the Marine Corps. He grew up in a baking family under the direction of his parents, who operated Byers Pastries in Columbia, PA. Naomi grew up on the Diffenderfer family farm in Silver Springs, PA. She credits her parents for her work ethic and her strong commitment to her faith.
Diahann Byers-Cascarella is the Bakery’s pastry chef is manager of the creative decor and cake department. She is the third generation of bakers in the Byers family. She has a reputation for knowledge and great expertise in creating the wedding cake of your dreams. Diahann is a graduate of Johnson and Wales University. She is able to create your cake masterpiece. Not only do we bake our cakes from scratch we also have a great decorating department.
We are now located in three farmer's markets and have the store open every Monday-Saturday.
